Google Business Profile Optimization in Charleston, SC
Make the First Thing Customers See About You Accurate
I fix, optimize, and manage Google Business Profiles for Charleston-area businesses, from outdated hours and wrong categories to suspended profiles. Choose a one-time project or ongoing management, and work directly with me.
I help Charleston-area businesses get their Google Business Profiles accurate, complete, and working. I review your ownership and verification status, categories, services, description, hours, contact details, website link, photos, and service-area setup, check for duplicate or conflicting listings, and correct what’s wrong. You receive an updated profile, a written summary of every change I made and why, and a short list of what to watch next. You work directly with me from the first conversation to the final summary.
Charleston Client Example: Reinstating a Suspended Profile
01Profile suspended
The suspension
A Charleston mold-inspection business’s Google Business Profile had been suspended, and the business wasn’t appearing on the first page for relevant local searches.
02Reinstated & optimized
The work
I worked directly with the client and Google through the required reinstatement process. Once the profile was restored, I optimized it, rebuilt the business’s website, and aligned the profile’s information with the new site.
03Page 1 · Organic + Maps
The observed outcome
The profile was reinstated. After that, the business began appearing on the first page for multiple high-intent searches in both organic and Maps results.
I also rebuilt the business’s website during the same period, so the visibility change reflects both the profile and the website work. Google controls reinstatement decisions and timing, and results vary by business, competition, search, and location.
One-Time Profile Optimization or Ongoing Management
One-Time Optimization
Who it suits
Businesses with a verified profile that’s incomplete or out of date, including a business that has moved, changed its phone number, hours, or services, or wants a clean baseline before managing the profile itself.
What’s included
An audit of the profile, then corrections to categories, services, description, hours (including holiday hours), contact details, website link, and service area. I add photos you supply, check for duplicate or conflicting listings, and match the profile’s name, address, and phone to your website. You get a written summary of the changes and a short list of what to monitor.
What access I need
Manager access, which you grant by inviting me through Google’s user settings, so you never share your password. I also need accurate business details, the photos you want used, and your approval before changes to your business name or primary category.
When it ends
When the agreed changes are made and you’ve received the summary.
Businesses that want someone keeping the profile current, such as seasonal hours, new services, fresh photos, and reviews arriving regularly.
What’s included
Monthly updates to hours, services, and photos. I watch for edits suggested by Google or the public and accept or correct them, write responses to your reviews, and send a monthly summary of profile activity from Google’s performance data.
What access I need
Continuing Manager access. You remain the profile’s Owner.
Price
From $350 per month for Google Business Profile management alone.
Term
A four-month minimum, then 30 days’ notice to cancel.
Google provides your Business Profile free of charge. You stay the owner. I’m added as a manager, and my fee covers my time and work, not the profile itself. If we stop working together, you can remove my access at any time, and the profile and everything on it stays with you.
How Much Does Google Business Profile Optimization Cost?
One-time optimization projects are quoted in writing after the consultation. The fee depends on how many profiles are involved, the profile’s current condition, how much of the category, service, and description work needs rebuilding, and whether your website needs changes to match.
Your written quote covers the profiles included, the specific tasks, what’s excluded, the fee and payment terms, the timeline, the access I need, and, for ongoing management, the monthly tasks, reporting, and cancellation terms.
Ongoing profile management
From $350 /month
Google Business Profile management alone. Four-month minimum, then 30 days’ notice to cancel.
Example scope, not a client project
One Verified Profile With Outdated Information
A Charleston service business has a verified profile, but its hours, phone number, and service list are out of date, and its website link points to an old page.
Quoted separately if they come up: reinstating a suspended profile, removing or merging duplicates, verifying a new location, and website rebuilds.
A one-time project would cover:
Confirming ownership and access
Updating the hours, phone, services, description, categories, website link, and service area
Adding photos you supply
Checking for duplicate listings
Matching your website’s contact details
Sending you a summary of every change
Your Profile Is Only Half of It
Your Google Business Profile and your website do different jobs, and each depends on the other. A strong profile that sends people to a weak or mismatched page loses them at the last step.
Your profile gets you found. Your website gets you chosen.
Customers often discover you in Maps, then tap through to your website to decide. If the page they land on doesn’t match the services, hours, or areas on your profile, they leave.
2
Google reads them together.
Google’s local results weigh relevance, distance, and prominence. Google says prominence draws on what it knows about your business from across the web, and that your position in regular web results is also a factor. When your name, address, phone, and services don’t match between the two, both get weaker.
3
Different Google results lean on different sources.
In a national sample of local searches collected in August 2026, about 71% of the sources cited in AI Overviews were business websites, while about 80% of the sources cited in AI Mode were Maps listings or Business Profiles.*
4
The Charleston case needed both.
Reinstating the mold inspector’s profile was the first step. Page-one visibility came after the profile was optimized and the website was rebuilt to match.

How much does Google Business Profile optimization cost?
Ongoing Google Business Profile management starts at $350 per month for the profile work alone. One-time optimization projects are quoted in writing after a free consultation, based on the number of profiles and their condition.
Do I need a one-time tune-up or monthly management?
A one-time project suits a profile that needs correcting once. Monthly management suits businesses whose hours, services, photos, or reviews change often enough to need regular attention.
Will I still own my Google Business Profile?
Yes. You stay the owner and add me as a manager. My fee covers the work, and you can remove my access at any time.
Can you help with a suspended Google Business Profile?
I have successfully helped a Charleston business navigate reinstatement. Support begins with reviewing the circumstances and applicable requirements. Google controls the decision and timing, so reinstatement cannot be guaranteed.
Why isn’t my business showing up on Google Maps?
Possible reasons include verification or suspension issues, inaccurate information, categories that don’t fit the business, competition, and the searcher’s location. A review of your profile and circumstances helps identify the appropriate next steps.
What is the difference between Google Business Profile optimization and local SEO?
Profile optimization focuses on the listing customers encounter in Search and Maps. Local SEO addresses your broader visibility for location-based searches, including your website, business listings, and your profile. I offer either a focused profile project or a broader engagement.
